NEW INDIE STOCKTON BOOKSHOP KICKS OFF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH A BIG BOOKS ARE MY BAG BOOKSHOP PARTY
Children’s drawing competition, bookshop buskers and
Where’s Wally drew in the customers
Stockton’s new independent book shop DRAKE – The Bookshop, which has only been open for 3 weeks, got into the party spirit at the weekend and took to the streets to celebrate the National Books Are My Bag campaign.
Children’s favourite “Where’s Wally?” made several appearances around the town and two local up and coming artists David Arnett and the rapper Consept entertained shoppers with their music and helped build the party mood (thanks to Mill Lane Artist Management). VIDEO CLIP HERE.
Customers walked away with their brand new books in a special bag designed by award winning author and illustrator Lauren Child.
We also launched a drawing competition for children to draw their favourite toy with the chance to win a signed copy of Oh No George by Chris Haughton.
Entry closes on Monday 19th October.
